JETMORE, Kansas-October12, 2017 – John Broberg, Interim CEO along with David Burkhart, Chair of the Hodgeman County Health Center Board of Trustees, announced today that Tammy Hutchison, RN, BSN has been appointed the Interim Acute Care Nursing Director (DON). Kim Cohoon, RN, Director of Nursing resigned. Tammy’s appointment is effective Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Tammy has over 25 years of nursing management experience in a rural healthcare delivery system. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fort Hays State University, and she is a Registered Nurse. In 2009 she earned certification as a legal consultant in order to better recognize medical-related legal issues. Tammy understands the unique obstacles that can occur in a rural healthcare facility. As a resident of Western Kansas, she has seen firsthand how beneficial a nursing consultant can be to a rural healthcare facility where access to more in-depth nursing experience is limited. That along with providing interim services is why Nursing Now, LLC was created. Tammy will fill this temporary role while helping with the recruitment and selection process, as well as assist the new DON in establishing leadership skills and assist with developing policy and procedures. Tammy’s goal is to provide the facility with courteous, expedient, professional service of the highest caliber. Hodgeman County Health Center operates a 13 bed CAH with Emergency Room, 25 bed Long Term Care, two rural health clinics: O’Shea Memorial and Spearville Medical, and an independent living complex Bramley Place.
