Laboratory Department Manager:

Hodgeman County Health Center is a customer-focused family-friendly organization dedicated to providing exceptional service as leaders in the healthcare industry. We are seeking a Lab Manager to join our team. The manager plans and implements the overall lab policies, procedures, and manages services for the lab. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations, including department quality control and compliance adherence. As a member of the leadership team, you will report to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Job Duties:

  • Must be accessible to testing personnel at all times that testing is performed to provide on-site, telephone, or electronic consultation to resolve technical problems.
  • Must be willing and able to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, etc. as well as be part of the on-call rotation with other laboratory personnel.
  • Responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of all laboratory testing.
  • Provide orientation to testing personnel by annually, and/or as needed, evaluating and documenting performance.
  • Must be familiar with all CLIA regulations and keep the laboratory “inspection ready” at all times.
  • Ensure that the laboratory has all of the necessary procedures and documentation needed for all testing performed in the laboratory.
  • Manages and directs the department’s administrative and financial functions.
  • Performs any other related duties as required.

Job Requirements:

The Laboratory Manager MUST meet one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or chemical, physical, biological science AND 1 year of training/experience in high complexity testing.
  • Associate’s Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology AND have at least 2 years of laboratory training and/or experience in high complexity testing.
  • Supervisory experience of 1-3 years.
